Festival Report
The 2004 event was a fantastic
success attracting over £60Million worth of some of the finest Historic Racing
Cars and Motorcycles in the World.
The oldest racing car (Bill
Ainscough’s Maserati 26M) dated back to 1930 with the oldest racing bike (Jim
Baxter’s Scott) from 1929.
Stars included the only surviving
Alfa 12C37 GP, Peter Numark’s ’57 ex-Fangio 250F and Barrie Baxter’s TecMec
Maserati 250F, the Moores Family owned first production Jaguar D-Type, Steve
Pilkington’s 250 GTO and the fantastic grid of Grand Prix and other historic
cars of the Trisha Pilkington’s TOPS Club.
500 Guests ranging from
Racing Legends and Drivers, VIP’s, Team Owners, Constructors, Event Organisers
and Racing Enthusiasts attended the Charity Dinners held during the event
weekend.
Sir Stirling Moss, Tony
Brooks and Roy Salvadori lapped the Grand Prix Circuit for the first time in
over 43 years in a selection of famous cars including the ex-Fangio Maserati
250F that raced in the ’57 GP at Aintree, the Syracuse Connaught that Tony
raced in the ’55 World Championship and the famous XK120 that Stirling drove to
victory in Sebring.
Former Jaguar Test Driver
Norman Dewis completed over 50 laps of the full circuit in the 1955 Le Mans
Winning ex-Hawthorn D-type, raising funds for the England/Hawthorn Memorial.

Specially commissioned Turner Prints
depicting Aintree’s famous Motor Racing Heritage are now available as well as
souvenir programmes and posters.
