The Directors of the Club invite you to our Special FILM EVENING at the Park Hotel. This is a unique opportunity to see rare film of racing on the Aintree Club Circuit in the 70's and early 80's.
The films were produced by the late Jim Evans, an Honorary Member of the Club and an Engineering Director from Wolverhampton, who was very much involved with Modified Sports Cars and Group C Sports Car Racing.
All of the films were shot using professional 16mm colour film and include contemporary background music, flared trousers, Triumph Dolomites, Ford Escorts, F1 powered Special Saloons, Formula Ford, Formula Libre (F1,F2, F5000, F Atlantic) the famous Aintree Double Decker bus, cars disappearing into the long Aintree grass, the spins and crashes at Country Corner and all the star drivers and cars of the period!
If you've ever wondered what racing was like at Aintree, here is your chance to see it!
There will be a nominal charge for entry for non-members on the door with proceeds going to The MotorSport Safety Fund.

IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE Liverpool

Celebrating Liverpool's Grand Prix and Formula 1 heritage.
This will feature both live demonstrations and static displays of
Formula 1, racing sports and saloon cars from the 1950's and 60's and a
selection of contemporary world class competition machinery around a specially
created "street circuit" close to the City Centre/Waterfront.

The Club is pleased to announce that negotiations to use the King's
Waterfront site, pictured above, as the venue for the event, are continuing.
The Club now has provisional
permission to use Gower Street (Albert Dock), which will enable a complete lap
to be incorporated using Wapping, Queens Wharf, King’s Parade and Gower Street
for parade and demonstration runs.
When we have full authority to use the venue from the landowners,
English Partnerships, we will announce a definitive date of when the event will
take place.
We know this will be a great disappointment to motor racing enthusiasts
in the North West but the use of the venue is entirely dependent on the
permission of the owners and the goodwill of existing users.
The event will consist
of a paddock display area and a demonstration/parade route along King’s Parade
and Queens Wharf on the Liverpool Waterfront, close to the World Heritage Site
at the Pier Head and next to the new Liverpool Arena and Convention Centre.
Further details will be released in due course.

In 1987, the Club pioneered the promotion and operation of Track Days and Sprints, with an emphasis both on high standards of safety and slick organisation, as an evolution of the Tuesday Test Sessions, which were the world's first events organised to allow non-racing access to a purpose built motor racing circuit.
These were established by the Club in 1954-5.
The Club was also entirely responsible for the management and financing, including the provision of all track equipment , of the "Club Circuit" for nearly 35 years, since 1964
when the then owners of the Racecourse, the Tophams, closed the 3 Mile Grand Prix circuit, pending sale of the course.
